I am an Executive Level 1 in the Australian Public Service, concurrently hold the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Australian Army Cadets and am the Commander of the New South Wales Australian Army Cadets Brigade. The Brigade consists of 61 cadet units throughout the state (approximately 7,000 cadets and 300 Officers of Cadets) with an annual budget in excess of $2 million.In this capacity I report directly to the Commander Australian Army Cadets (a Brigadier) and am responsible for the command, leadership and management of the Australian Army Cadets Organisation in NSW including:1. supervision of the administration and management of the cadet units;2. planning and conduct of medium to large scale training activities;3. approval of activities conducted by cadet units;4. liaison with Defence Support Group and civilian organisations for the management of facilities and garrison support matters for all AAC locations;5. recruitment, selection, appointment and "career" management, discipline and termination of Army Cadets staff and cadets;6. management of and provision of instructional staff to courses for ACS;7. coordination of public relations activities at the unit and regional level; and8. liaison with community partners, schools, State and Local Government departments, sponsors, business and parents.
