The Group is the world's leading manufacturer of nickel batteries and primary lithium batteries for the industrial infrastructure and processes, transportation, civil and military electronics' markets.As Bid Manager, I directed the creation of sales proposals for large industrial/utility scale lithium-ion battery solutions. This entailed project managing cross-functional teams developing successful RFP responses, with responsibility for proposal management plans, checklists, outlines, matrices, schedules, and assignments. Throughout this process, I led technical research, internal proposal reviews, and collaboration with Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and our subcontractor partners. Key achievement:►Leading the successful development of eight to ten complex sales proposals per month, up to $100M in value apiece. ►Constructing responses for high-megawatt installations supporting hydro, solar, wind, and microgrid solutions.

I was appointed in 2016 to champion the growth strategy and execution via the cultivation of pipelines of potential selling opportunities for Saft’s energy storage and lithium battery solutions. This entailed leading the full scope of long-horizon business development, scouting opportunities for direct sale or to drive inclusion in client solutions roadmaps. I also managed presentations and displays at industry trade shows and provided engineering and technical support on behalf of the Sales organization. Key achievements:►Building a high value pipeline of opportunities, for a series of major deals up to $40M in value each. This was achieved by liaising with our global client project developers, utilities, and engineering firms to build mindshare and opportunities.►Sourcing C-level industry, transportation, and military decision makers as evangelist and demonstrator at ten annual trade shows including Solar Power International, DistribuTECH, and PowerGen.►Collaborating with the Sales organization on high-profile RFP wins. I was successfully in leveraging a consultative approach and my technical expertise to promote projects for Alaskan and Canadian microgrids, island microgrids, and the frequency regulation markets.►Maintaining client engagement across long deal lifecycles via ongoing education, follow-up cadences, and strategic introductions.►Aligning with our internal product management and technical teams as “voice of the customer” on a rapidly growing product portfolio, adding value via needs analysis, advocacy, and input on new products and feature sets.►Delivering comprehensive engineering support on solutions definition and architecture, navigating technical hurdles, and providing education.

During this period of time, I managed the strategy, operations, and day-to-day performance of a power solutions design organization, heading a team of 50 mechanical, software, and electrical engineers and designers architecting, building, validating, and certifying designs from initial concept through fabrication and delivery to manufacture. Key achievements:►Partnering with the Project Management Organization (PMO) on roadmap planning and execution.►Commercializing a variety of solutions and components deployed across the Saft America product lines.►Strengthening engineering quality via leadership on continuous improvements to products and processes.►Building a high-performing Engineering organization via coaching, mentoring, and individual empowerment.

I orchestrated the complete program lifecycle of major lithium ion battery systems programs from initial concept through customer installation, operation, and support, initially with the company's Space & Defense Division (2002 through 2010) then the Energy group (2010–2015). In this evolving role, I headed the definition of conceptual designs including electrical, electro-chemical, mechanical and software components; directed the technical components of RFP proposal responses; managed development, production, and installation contracts and timelines; and acted as the PMO responsible for scheduling, budget, and technical requirements.
