I worked for MGH Police and Security as a Veteran Officer and Department Instructor. My primary function was to provide protective services to the MGH Community in a professional and supportive manner through my patrols, and daily connections with employees, patients, visitors and guest. My active participation in various committees has developed major successes for those I serve. I was a Lead Emergency Medical Responder Instructor; responsible for providing quality medical training for fellow officers on medical support skills, ensuring confidence and efficiency. I was also an AHA Facilitator for the Norman Knight Training and Development Department, MGH HazMat Response Team Member and certified on TEMS (Tactical Medical), including an NRA Home Firearms Safety Instructor. Part of my role as Senior Police and Security Officers was to educate new officers on policies and procedures, effective patrol procedures and customer service, along with common sense safety practices. I then accepted the full-time position and later promoted to Security Supervisor at the Boston Downtown Crossing Store (Flagship). As supervisor, my responsibility involved overseeing the activities of fellow officer on patrols, observations, apprehension of those who commit a crime, evidence gathering, investigations and interviews, documentation and processing. And in some occasions processing and charging customers or associates who have committed their crime, and court appearances.I was later offered the Security Manager position, responsible for overseeing the daily security operations within the store, managed a staff of approximately 12 Store Detectives and 6 Door Guards, with an annual budget of: $476,000. I was responsible for payroll, scheduling, shrink audits, training and development, investigations of more serious criminal activities, policies and procedure updates and reviews, implementation of theft mitigation reports, and to assist in reducing shrink through training and random surveillances. I was also liaison within the community and law enforcement.
