With over 40 years of experience in wealth management, trust administration, and accounting, I bring a strategic and client-centered approach to my role as Director of Private Client Services at The Thigpen Group. My expertise lies in guiding high-net-worth individuals and families through complex financial landscapes, including estate planning and navigating the federal estate tax exemption changes set to "sunset" after December 31, 2025. My journey in finance began with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Mississippi State University, followed by a career that spans some of the most respected institutions in the field. I’ve held pivotal roles at Trustmark National Bank, where I supported affluent families and business owners with their estate and continuity planning; Arvest Wealth Management in Jonesboro, Arkansas, as a Trust Officer; and the Episcopal Diocese of Mississippi, where I served as Chief Financial Officer, overseeing planned giving and managing significant endowment funds. A lifelong learner and advocate for excellence, I’ve earned the designations of Certified Financial Planner® (CFP), Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC), as well as a Master of Science in Financial Services. I’ve also had the privilege of serving as a member and past president of the Estate Planning Council of Mississippi and as a member of both the Mississippi Society of CPAs and the Estate Planning Council of New Orleans. Beyond the office, I’m an active member of St. James’ Episcopal Church in Jackson, Mississippi. My wife, Susan, and I reside in Ridgeland, where we enjoy time with our son, Michael.
