I am currently the Mayor of Barrhead having been elected in the 2017 Alberta Municipal Election. I continue to facilitate for Street Smart Inc. safety programs. I provide a variety of safety presentations and training. My facilitation style is to use common sense thinking, with best practices for the topic and a touch of humor to help remember the message. I like to draw on my past experiences and add some "I was there" stories to re-enforce the safety aspect of the topic. Many of my real life examples reflect that these things really can happen and "you just can't make up stuff like that". The exception of course is any story that starts with, A bear, a priest and a duck walk into a bar...... cause I'm pretty sure that one is made up !!!I have a wide spectrum of experience in the areas of personal safety which includes driving and traffic safety, firearms training, personal self-defence & workplace safety. I also facilitate sessions in the Learn 2 Drive programs for any schools, agencies or organizations wishing to provide sessions for anyone wanting to obtain their Alberta Class 7 Learners Licence or brush up on their driving knowledge and strategies. I've also consulted with community groups and municipalities to assist in creating safety awareness initiatives.
