Confabulate was a start-up company whose product, Loober, a VOIP and IM tool, offers free group chat and tools for media groups to create and broadcast their own premium talkshows. • As lead programmer and architect, transformed a prototype into a multi-platform (Windows, Mac and Linux), multilingual (English, Chinese, Arabic, French and Spanish), scalable (peer-to-peer), feature-rich product. • Responsible for building and managing a team which was spread out geographically and encompassed permanent and contract workers. • Head of technology across GUI, networking and audio in an application client and directory services, database and web server-side elements. • Implemented projects aimed at monetarising the product, such as billing mechanisms and live-streaming audio content to a premium widget on a website, Facebook or MySpace profile, to allow users to listen in to a talkshow for a fee. • Liaising with directors and marketing personnel to formulate product strategies.

Throughout the world broadcasters such as the BBC, Radio France and Radio New Zealand and studios such as Abbey Road use SADiE DAWs. • Key member of R&D team responsible for the design, implementation and debugging of the application code base (several million LOC). Liaising with customers, marketing and sales. • Designed and implemented new application features and enhancements to the real-time audio engine. Projects span: GUI, application, drivers and DSP layers. • Programmed Analog Devices (Sharc) DSPs to enable SADiE to support multi-channel audio. • Experience of redesigning the distribution of audio processing across multiple DSPs. • Development of driver for enhancing (red book) audio CD writing capabilities. • Designed and managed the implementation and integration of the postproduction multimedia interchange Advanced Authoring Format (AAF). • Represented SADiE at numerous AAF Association Engineering Committee meetings in Europe and U.S. and delivered product presentation to Hollywood studio executives.
