These included: Annual Financial Audit Preparation, Worker’s Compensation Reporting, Month-end Accounting, prepaid expenses, Inventory in Transit reconciliation, recruitment and hiring process for future interns, related party partnership accounting, and Purchase Card Auditing. On all projects, David worked hard to complete the tasks assigned to him with minimal supervision and in a timely manner. David came in on time each day and was known by his colleagues to have a positive attitude. He worked on tasks even when they were mundane. I was very impressed with David’s ability to quickly make connections between the various projects he worked on and the tools and resources he was introduced to. David worked throughout his internship to further his knowledge of our ERP, SAP and Microsoft Excel. He completed several training exercises in SAP. He also worked heavily with Excel on several of the projects mentioned before. David was able to gain more experience in several of Excel’s functions including lookups, logical tests, pivot tables and visual basic macros. During his internship, we met weekly to discuss his growth plans for future education and career goals. While at Woodgrain, David worked well with his teammates in the corporate office and was professional with other accountants he interacted with in our other locations across the country. I request all interns to carbon copy me on outgoing emails. This allowed me to observe David’s writing and communication skills. I feel that David will be able to take what he has learned at Woodgrain and in his formal education to clearly communicate with teammates in future employment opportunities. I recommend David as an accountant who strives to learn what he needs to in order to accomplish the tasks required of him."
