I started my career at Sony Music as a Junior Production Coordinator in June 2011 and worked my way up to management level in 2016 and on to a senior management role in June 2018. In these various roles at Sony Music I have dealt with most aspects of the business dealing with finance, digital operations, Vinyl / CD manufactures, designers, artist management, project managers, promo suppliers, sales and business admin. I have also worked alongside our IT development team to redesign and create a new internal system to store release information on all of Sony Music’s local and international releases.During my time at Sony Music I have worked on a number projects for labels such as Columbia, RCA, Music For Nations (MFN), Syco, Sony Classical UK / International & Sony RED Essential. One of the highlights of my career so far has been working on the 2017 Arcade Fire – Everything Now project, this was a huge and highly confidential project that had 21 different vinyl formats and over 40 digital products. This role includeded meeting and building good relationships with record labels, booking agents, promoters, keeping up to date with current trends and retail movement, reacting to reports from Social Media accounts and looking after distribution. I was also dealing with negotiating recording and touring contracts, creating release plans, online marketing, account verifications, booking radio & in store appearances, organising travel arrangements and management of the band’s day to day finances whilst on tour.In my time managing the band we have successfully signed 2 record deals with Annibale Records in Italy and US cult label Greenway Records based in New York City, both of which are strong players in the Psych / Surf music scene. I also helped the band sign to a booking agent in Europe and the US. My main achievement whilst in this role was booking a 22 date tour across the US and also booking and planning a 2 week tour across Europe. Show less
