Working closely with the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) the position is responsible for:• supporting the development of an Abandoned and Legacy Mines framework for Crown land;• compiling and analysing a database of abandoned and legacy mines and quarries on the Parks Victoria estate;• supporting the development of Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) with other Victoria Government land managers for the ongoing management of abandoned and legacy mines and quarries;• preparation of internal policy and advice on the management of abandoned and legacy mines and quarries;• undertaking environment and/or safety risk assessments on sites with former mining activity;• reporting to senior managers and executives of project progress; and• liaising with and responding to regulators.This position represents Parks Victoria on the Project Working Group, contributing expertise, data and documentation to the project on behalf of Parks Victoria.
