AboutI’m David Miranda, a Staff Sergeant (SSgt) in the U.S. Air Force, specializing in Cable and Antenna Systems. Currently assigned to the 502nd Communication Squadron at Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) Lackland, Texas, I manage the installation, maintenance, and repair of an $800 million copper and fiber optic cable network. This infrastructure supports the communications needs of over 266 key organizations at the Department of Defense’s largest joint base, ensuring seamless connectivity for critical missions.Originally from the Bronx, New York, I joined the Air Force in July 2017. After completing Basic Military Training, I attended technical training at Sheppard Air Force Base, where I graduated from the Cable and Antenna Systems course. My first assignment was with the 85th Engineering Installation Squadron at Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi. Since then, I’ve served in seven countries, including the UAE, Afghanistan, Qatar, and Germany, contributing to operations like FREEDOM SENTINEL, INHERENT RESOLVE, and SPARTAN SHIELD. With 540 days in combat zones, I’ve taken on roles as a technician, team leader, and section lead, honing my leadership skills and technical expertise.Beyond my military career, I’m a certified private pilot with aspirations of becoming an airline pilot, though I’m also pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology as a versatile career path. My educational background includes an Associate Degree from the Community College of the Air Force and certification in Fiber Optic Installation. I’m proud to have graduated from Airman Leadership School and earned awards like the Air and Space Commendation Medal and Joint Service Achievement Medal.Throughout my career, I’ve embraced opportunities to lead, solve complex challenges, and grow both personally and professionally.
