CurrentWith Pat, I founded the bookshop in 1974 - it has grown into "Britain's most enjoyable Bookshop", a dozen rooms of new, second-hand and antiquarian book and cafe in a beautiful location, home to a wide variety of group meetings and events. these days, family and shop responsibilities have lessened and I'm returning to develop academic and eccentric ideas long "put on hold".Scarthin Books have published well over 100 titles of regional interest, beginning in 1981, including... the Family Walks series... Transformation of a Valley - the Derbyshire Derwent ... Robert Bakewell: Artist Blacksmith... Walls across the Valley - The Building of the Derwent and Howden Dams...and rod Dunn's two Walk the Peak volumes. I'm trying to give it up but keep giving in. My own Lattice Labyrinth Tessellations, Bold Art from Modest Mathematics was published in November 2013 by Tarquin Books. I owe a lot to family, friends and staff (overlapping categories).
