First 24 years working in the pharmaceutical, animal health and medical devices sectors. Roles included Territory Manager, Regional Manager, Field Sales Operations Manager, National Sales Manager, Group Product Manager and OTC Sales and Marketing Director at Janssen. The next 8 years, Commercial Director at McNeil Products, a joint venture between J&J and MSD. The last 8 years, Head of Pharmacy at J&J Consumer. Joining J&J Consumer at the time of the Pfizer consumer business acquisition provided excellent experience integrating two very large organisations with differing cultures and behaviours, consolidating them into one huge, highly successful business. I was for many years a director of The Proprietary Association of Great Britain and I am currently a director of The Health & Beauty Association. I am also a member nominated Trustee Director of the J&J Pension Plan. Over the years my teams and I have won numerous awards and accolades for our sales and marketing results including Pharmacy Sales Force of the Year across 5 consecutive years. I have been given the honour of 4 separate Life Time Achievement Awards by the pharmacy profession and the industry. Following retirement from Johnson & Johnson in December 2015, I established David Mitchell Healthcare Consulting. Through my broad and varied career I am proud to be one of the best known, highly regarded and extensively connected leaders in pharmacy.
