A wide-ranging brief supporting the MSP’s communications and parliamentary work.Communications:• Designed and launched a new website for the member using WordPress.com, published to a dotScot domain: keithbrownmsp.scot• Created and managed a YouTube channel with clipped and subtitled versions of parliamentary speeches, questions, and animated clips of radio interviews, using Adobe PremierePro and AfterEffects.• Manage the member’s Facebook presence.• Write press releases for local and national press, upload them to the member’s website, liaising with journalists.• Provide audio clips from the member to radio broadcasters.• Drafted, designed, printed and posted constituency-wide/area-wide mailings using mail merge, to publicise the member’s constituency surgeries.• Designed a full-colour four-page annual report, that was posted to all constituents, compliant with Scottish Parliament guidelines, using Adobe InDesign.Parliamentary:• Write the member’s speeches, and draft Parliamentary questions, ensuring these are later turned into subtitled video clips for social media use.• Draft and publicise technically worded Parliamentary motions, following specific guidelines.• Plan, book, organise and draft speeches for the members work as a delegate to the Council of Europe’s Congress of Local and Regional authorities as a representative of the Scottish Parliament.• Function as a personal assistant for the member. Every week I prepare a printed diary for the member, including committee papers, briefings, speeches and questions, as well as a media-briefing containing all press releases issued in the week prior, and press-cuttings of where the member has been mentioned in the media.• Attend meetings with the member, take notes, and follow up on agreed actions.Other duties:• I assist with the other functions of the office including casework, campaign emails, diary management, attending events, and meeting with constituents.

In this role, I: • Set up the newly elected first-time MSP's casework operation, working closely with elected technologies to set up caseworker.scot.• Supported another caseworker and worked closely with other staff members to establish the newly elected MSP's office, working through an initial backlog of casework, and training another caseworker, and other staff on the caseworker software.• Supported constituents through email, phone or in person, and drafted and sent responses to campaign emails from constituents.• Supported the member's website and social media output with press releases and graphics work where appropriate.

In this role, I:• Supported constituents through email, phone and in person, particularly during the pandemic, which saw a sharp increase in sensitive casework. • Drafted and sent responses to campaign emails from constituents.• Designed a digital and print survey, using SurveyMonkey on the use of unregulated fireworks, which was sent to all residents in the Stirling constituency via post. The results were then used to call for a debate on fireworks regulations in the House of Commons.• Regularly supported the member beyond the casework remit, including in communications, by designing graphics, videos, interactive PDFs and website content.

In this role, I:• Supported the University of Stirling's faculty of Social Sciences by creating and managing social media pages.• Made a successful funding bid and used this funding to finance a short campaign video for internal use.This role began as a three month contract which was extended with a further offer of being made permanent, however I was unable to accept this due to beginning work in politics and moving towards an ERASMUS+ semester.
