‘CLAC’ was group of 9 Local Authorities (LA’s) that carried out Civil Engineering, Road Maintenance and Drainage works behalf of the Scottish Executive (SE) for West of Scotland’s Trunk Road Network.Duties Included:• Liaising with 9 LA’s and the SE regularly on all asp • Discussed and approved traffic management proposals with LA’s and Strathclyde Police on a weekly basis• Preparing measurements and invoices to be submitted to the SE• Preparing tenders for schemes on behalf of the SE• Regular supervision of schemes on Motorway Networks• Overseeing Winter Maintenance of Network carried out by 9 LA’s• Carried out audits on systems and infrastructure of Motorway Networks• Attended monthly proposal and progress meetings with the SE in Edinburgh• Communicating with the public on behalf of the SE.

Supervised various Civil Engineering and Road Maintenance projects from the M62 corridor to Shetland Islands.Duties Included:• The supervision on up to 7 crews across the region• Carrying out site measurements for tenders• Preparing and submitting tenders to Local Authorities, the MoD, Airport Authorities and private companies and a weekly basis• Ordering materials and arranging deliveries for all crews• Meet and liaise with crews on a regular basis• Ensuring safety procedures are adhered to• Controlling budget, monitoring costs and income on weekly basis• Attend regular progress meetings on site and at head office with clients and inhouse management team• Agree final measurements with client when work is completed• Regularly attend internal and external courses.
