Senior Community Engagement Advisor
- Over 7 years I successfully achieved timely Adequacy rulings from the Government of Alberta (SRD, ACO & AER) on over 250 consultations with 20 Indigenous groups in northern Alberta, focusing on the oil sands region and further south into the Lac La Biche area. - I worked closely with the various communities to determine possible impacts to their Treaty rights and traditional uses due to project footprints varying in scope from a single well/access road to commercial SAGD projects, and where possible determined ways of mitigating impacts.- The most gratifying part of this position was in developing close working & personal relationships within the various communities. These relationships fostered a trust that permitted me to regularly be included in events such as Treaty Days, pow wows and Christmas celebrations.- I participated within the various project teams at AOC to develop consultation plans that would meet the teams' timelines. This also provided me with the appropriate knowledge of the projects that would assist me in consultations with the communities.- Served as conduit between First Nation & Metis companies, either community-owned or otherwise, and AOC's Procurement department; participated in joint meetings seeking opportunities for these companies within AOC projects and advocating on their behalf.

This provided me with the appropriate knowledge of the projects that would assist me in consultations with the communities.
