Acquired maintenance ticket to work on RR Gnome turbine engines allowing weekend work with Seaspeed maintaining their hovercraft. The formation of the nationalised British Hovercraft Company to concentrate on the SRN-4 cross-channel car ferry included a decision to terminate all training facilities at Cowes and move them to Metal Propellers Ltd, Purley Way, Croydon.
