Healthcare insight, analysis and project management

Lead for a collaborative project between the Royal College of General Practitioners and Clinical Practice Research Datalink. We produce Quality Improvement data reports, focusing on prescribing and patient safety, to GP practices across all four nations of the UK. I led cross-functional teams on a number of specific projects to develop new products and services for the English healthcare market, and managed the development and maintenance of Dr Foster’s online benchmarking, monitoring and data analysis tools.I was responsible for ensuring that the voice of the user was central to the development of Dr Foster’s products, and for ensuring that these products and services met the information and analysis needs of healthcare organisations.

My role was to turn data into actionable insight. I led the delivery of strategic analysis of hospital admissions data for a range of clients, primarily in the NHS. I also contributed as a team member to the delivery of projects led by others.I wrote and presented social marketing insight reports for the NHS and local authorities.I conducted a number of research projects for clients in the commissioning, acute and public health sectors, and contributed to a number of policy documents.

I managed the production of materials for patients to support the introduction of patient choice across England. These materials included booklets distributed to every GP surgery in the country, videos and websites. I also worked on social marketing projects for a variety of NHS and local authority clients.

I wrote and implemented a communications strategy that included publications, events, marketing materials, press releases and a website. I managed a multi-site team delivering this activity, and managed the budget.

I managed the publications programme for a membership organisation.

I provided editorial services for a number of organisations, including the BBC and Emap.

I was responsible for the content of five volumes of the 20-volume Children’s Britannica.

I was responsible for the production of materials to support Channel 4’s educational output, both printed and online.
