About David Murdoch
After graduation from the University of Glasgow, David Murdoch was a lecturer in the Department of Medicine at that Veterinary School before being appointed as a lecturer in the Department of Small Animal Studies at the University of Liverpool. There, he developed his interest in Gastroenterology and Diagnostic Radiology. Whilst at that school, he described one of the first cases of Granulomatous Colitis in the Boxer dog in the UK. As regards publications, he has authored numerous articles and has contributed chapters on gastroenterology in several textbooks. For the last few years, he has maintained his interest in gastroenterology whilst working in practice seeing both first opinion and referral cases. He received the Melton Award from the BSAVA for outstanding contributions by a practicing Veterinary Surgeon. As well as lecturing extensively on gastroenterology in the United Kingdom and Europe, he has worked as consultant on the development of several new gastrointestinal therapies.
