Practicing independently and autonomously to the highest level of my professional license in the assessment and prioritisation of patients undergoing treatment in the Emergency Department, primarily in the resuscitation area, undertaking advanced level assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patients needs.Undertaking advanced critical thinking and decision-making skills, deciding when necessary to refer to senior colleaguesOn a daily basis, I act autonomously to provide expert clinical/technical care, which contributes to the diagnosis, specialist care and treatment plans for these highly complex patientsI authorise and arrange necessary investigations and undertake a range of advanced interventions eg, advanced airway management / intubation, ultrasonography, invasive line and chest drain insertion, ect often using this platform as an educational process for other colleagues.I authorise the decision to admit patients and / or proactively initiate discharge, Ensuring that accurate, essential information is relayed.I ensure that adequate facilities are in place to maintain safety in the environment referring patients to an appropriate practitioner when their needs and risks are not within my scope of practice
