Provided research and programming support for multiple projects in the Jurisica Laboratory.2005-2006 Built a text-mining system for the automated extraction of protein-protein interactions in online literature. This required research that culminated in a conference paper for the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics. The technologies used included DB2, XML, Java and WordNet. 2005-Present Responsible for implementing and maintaining a Java EE based web interface for a publicly accessible protein-protein interaction database. Technologies used included DB2, XML, JSP, and J2EE.2006-Present Worked as part of a team, and then as team lead in the development of NAViGaTOR, a visualization toolkit for graphs. Was responsible for planning, implementing, and supporting the software. Interacted directly with researchers in the field of biology for developing solutions to specific needs, and also provided promotional support in the form of documentation, presentations and lectures. Technologies used included Java, Saxon, OpenGL, and OSGi.
