Design and layout of machines critical to the manufacture of Superconducting Wire, Industrial Motors and Generators. Machines designed included, but not limited to: Furnace Cores, Pay-Off / Take-Ups, Rolling Mills, Slitters, Tape Packaging, Particle Removal, Vacuum Chambers, Material Handling, Lamination and Solder Station. Design of Jigs, Fixtures and Tooling for above equipment (parts and assemblies). Cross-departmental collaborative experience includes Software development for company. (Agile PLM)• Designed new products and made improvements to existing products in regards to advancements in technology (example: mounting of cryogenic cold-heads to electric generator Rotor eliminating need for separate cryogenic unit).• Collaborated with Machinists, Fabricators and Outside Vendors, ensuring completion of projects in a timely manner with minimal issues.• Design and Layout of Cryogenic Systems for Superconducting Motors, Generators from concept to finish including test and Assembly Fixtures for manufacture of Superconducting Motors and Generators.• Initiated reviews on designs created, ensuring completeness and agreement with all involved in project.• Handled complete documentation of layouts and detailed manufacturing drawings created through R&D and according to manufacturing, customer and / or engineering specifications.• Facilitated ECO / ECN creation and implementation of drawings for the manufacture of items and checked and signed off drawings as needed for manufacture of items. • Performed Tolerance Stack-Up studies, ensuring proper form, fit and function saving valuable company time, money and resources.• Implemented Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) on all drawings to ensure proper fit and function, saving valuable company time, money and resources.• Collaborated with Marketing for creation of a new company LOGO.
