*Duties and Responsibilities: Perform instrument calibrations in accordance with FDA guidelines, assist in the investigating/closing of deviations and implementing corrective/preventative actions. Perform unscheduled maintenance request and scheduled preventive maintenance work orders for facilities and manufacturing equipment. Work with vendors to coordinate and execute calibrations associated with a solid dose pharmaceutical facility. Various equipment/instruments responsible for calibrating and troubleshooting are the following: temperature, pressure, speed, weight, conductivity, PH, flow (liquid, mass and volume), TOC, incubators, ovens, moisture analyzer, stability chambers, walk in freezers/cold rooms, viscosity, LEL/O2 gas sensors, and humidity.

Instrumentation & Metrology/Calibration Lead Technician. My progression at Novartis had been from a Specialist Technician, promoted to a Senior Technician, and promoted to a Shift Lead Technician. My responsibilities increased due to taking on excellent ownership and performance, as well as customer service with a routine focus on quality. Also developed, started up and executed a standards in house metrology lab. Responsible for executing scheduled calibrations, preventive and corrective maintenance on instrumentation, (temperature, pressure, level, speed, weight, ph, TOC conductivity, flow (gas and liquid), turbidity, humidity, scales and balance) and control devices/equipment in compliance with facility procedures and work instructions. Support other departments to troubleshoot, test, repair and optimize instruments, equipment and control systems. Assist in the maintenance of calibration standards, maintenance database and filing system. Ensured all equipment was maintained and operated in continuous GMP condition. Provided troubleshooting support for the Siemens Apogee BMS system AB PLC and Delta-V DCS systems. Provided instrumentation support for start-up, commissioning and turnover for new systems throughout the site. Maintain and progressively improved the site Preventive Maintenance Program. Managed contracted service providers that support equipment calibration. Provide and research all Reverse Traceability Reports for Calibration Standards that were found out of tolerances. Performed in house calibrations on our secondary temperature standards using primary standards in our metrology lab, (using ITS-90 fixed point temperature cells: triple point of water, triple point of mercury, tin freezing point, and SPRT probe with a Fluke 1594A Super Thermometer.
