This system was constructed using four software interfaces: the Redcom modular switching peripheral (private telephone switch), the station controller unit (custom device located in each fire station providing multiple phones, P.A., house-lights, bells and dispatch printer), the headset relay controller and the digitized voice dispatch (automated dispatch announcements using digitized / synthesized voice).• Developed interfaces/control systems for the following FCCS II subsystems: enhanced 911 services, Reddinet medical alert centre network (provides information on the availability of hospitals’ resources), LCD display clock (displays messages or data/time to dispatchers), voice recorder (records all phone and radio conversations), Centracom voice radio.• Designed the following CAD components: backup centre (for backup, recovery, and remote-site synchronization / disaster recover), time control and display marquee, external interface cutover control, hospital maintenance, application external interface, and dispatch communications network.• Developed the WAD Billing System using DB/2. This system tracks billing information for emergency medical service (EMS) incidents. This included maintenance windows (e.g., units, personnel, incidents, payee), reports, and a security layer (authentication and authorization). Additionally, an interface was developed to directly import incident/unit/personnel data from the WAD CAD System.
