Sr. Flow Assurance Chemist - Global Innovation Bu Oms
Shifted focus to Flow Assurance applications, including:· Hydrate Inhibition (LDHI)· Asphaltene Deposition Inhibition· Wax Inhibition· Pour Point DepressentsI assist regional groups in their qualification testing of product packages and work with Global Innovation teams to develop novel technologies.Primary responsibilities pertain to the design, fabrication, operation, and maintenance of testing equipment. I am also responsible for improving work stream efficiency, automation, and software development for my department.
Sr. Eor Chemist - Global Innovation Bu Oms
Worked in a multidisciplinary innovation role focusing on IOR/EOR applications including:· Near wellbore remediation· Produced IOR/EOR emulsion remediation· Scale Management for SP/ASP Floods· General emulsion remediationPrimarily ran coreflood laboratory simulating IOR/EOR treatment regimes at reservoir conditions. This line of testing was new for The Woodlands site; as such, method development and work stream efficiency was a constant task. Also worked in qualifying reservoir conditions through water, oil, and effluent analysis.
Chemist - Global Innovation Bu Oms (Contracted Through Kelly Services)
Worked in Oil and Mining Services focusing on produced water remediation and oil separations. My work focused on the mechanisms of emulsions created by crude oil, produced brines, reservoir geology, and synthetic hydrophilic polymers.
Research Associate - Petrochemist
My primary duties involved conducting joint projects with partner oil companies and core flood reservoir simulation projects in-house for Glori. I designed custom core flooding systems and methods, including: sourcing the pumps, manifolds, sensors, NI LabView programming, and data summary. I also helped with analytical chemistry duties and troubleshooting machine maintenance as needed.
Laboratory Technician (Contracted Through Pace Analytical)
I was a temp laboratory technician in a QA/QC work for Sekisui's PVOH unit. We would conduct testing on samples brought in from their industrial manufacturing site as well as provide chemistry support for their research division. Common tests included DSC, GC-MS, GC-FID, Headspace GC, HPLC, GPC, Kinematic viscosity, UV-VIS Spectroscopy, titrations, and separations.
Research And Development Lab Technician (Contracted Through Pace Analytical)
I worked with micro-unit Oldershaw distillation columns researching novel-type chemical manufacturing. The columns were glass with stainless steel plumbing complementing them. I was also part of a team designing and building a catalytic hydrolysis micro-unit. Assisted LabVIEW developers as needed.
Lab Technician (Contracted Through Kelly Scientific)
I started off running previously designed core-flooding experiments. At the end of my tenure with Shell, I was running a small lab where I would design, build, run, maintain, and analyze various core-flooding experiments. I also maintained the lab itself, including inventory, maintenance, and safety coordination. I gained experience with Anton-Parr rheometer, Anton-Parr densitometer, automated Metrohm titrator, and various in-line pH and conductivity meters. I designed data acquisition systems using logic controllers and a software development program similar to NI LabView. All core-flooding experiments were done at simulated well conditions, including dissolved gasses.
Lab Technician (Contracted Through Kelly Scientific)
Worked in a cement QA/QC lab testing batch mixes before field deployment. Worked with high-pressure/high-temperature consistometers, ultrasonic signal conditioners, various rheometers, and metered crushers. Maintained equipment and lab facilities. Assisted the lab in a transition to new lab management software.
