Enthusiastic experimentalist with a keen interest in unravelling molecular mechanisms in Cell Biology. Committed to employing and/or learning the most suitable methodologies to address biological questions, prioritizing sufficiency over trends. My expertise spans a wide range of methodologies, including cell engineering, protein biochemistry/biophysics, as well as light and electron microscopy. Currently, my research focuses on elucidating aggregation-dependent endocytosis processes.My academic journey began with a Ph.D. in Molecular Virology under the mentorship of Ralf Bartenschlager, where I delved into the intricacies of endomembrane rearrangements serving as viral replication factories during hepatitis C virus infection. Subsequently, as an EMBO long-term fellow, I transitioned to Harvey McMahon’s lab at the LMB in Cambridge. There, my focus shifted to investigating protein-driven membrane dynamics involved in cell-cell fusion and endocytosis.
