Responsible for new development and enhancements to mainframe and server based computer systems in support of State Auto's Property and Casualty insurance business. Development is done using COBOL, DB2, VSAM and JCL and involves extensive involvement in each phase of the system development life cycle, including requirement development, coding, testing, implementation and documentation. Additional responsibilities include developing processes for reporting claims and policy information to government regulatory agencies including the State of Connecticut Department of Administrative Services. Also responsible for the development of VB.Net applications for sending policy declarations and legal notices to State Auto's electronic report archiving facility. Additionally, I am responsible for support and enhancements to a legacy Policy Management and Claims system running on an IBM AS/400. Production support duties include on call responsibility for nightly production cycles. When a problem arises the problem must be fixed, the solution documented and communicated to team members as soon as possible. My assignments require extensive interaction with business analysts and team members located across the country, communication is essential to delivering quality software solutions in a timely manner.

Farmington Ct

Responsible for new development and enhancements to Royal's mainframe Accounting and Policy Management systems using COBOL, VSAM, CICS and JCL. Main area of responsibility included providing development and production support for Royal's General Ledger and Accounts Receivable systems. Duties included coordinating and processing daily and weekly agent tape feeds, assisting account department personnel with month end balancing by creating ad-hoc reports as needed and investigating and resolving production issues. Additional responsibilities included the development of processes to report premium and claims information to various state insurance departments along with reports to track the premium and loss history of Royal's agents.
