Spalding University Master of Education Teacher Leader Program is a partnership with 2Revolutions, Jefferson County Public Schools, and Spalding with an emphasis on Competency-based Learning (CBL). The core of the work is building adult capacity via facilitated, topical communities of practice ennabling teachers and leaders to develop the new knowledge, skills, and mindsets they need to support learners. I am presently teaching a series of degree granting courses, 10 weeks in length that focus on Assessment for Learning, and Leading Change.

The 2Rev approach to professional development is context based and learner centered focused on cultivating a school and teacher sense of agency, efficacy and meaning. The work provides me with the opportunity to be a facilitator, presenter, and coach to teachers through a powerful vital learning platform, Inspired. I am also teaching at Spalding University, in a competency based program for teacher leaders . Part of a Spalding-2Rev partnership in educational leadership.

WDS is an independent, N-12 school that for nearly half a century has provided a highly personalized, experiential, and arts-driven experience on a 40 acre campus in the Catskill Mountains. In the three years of my headship, 1.5 that included the pandemic, WDS increased it’s visibility in the local community for it's environmental role in teaching it’s students stewardship and activism and established key partnerships with local mental health and youth serving organizations. The headlines from the last 3 years include:--A grade 6 and up curriculum model that integrates coaching and goal setting to intentionally fortify executive functioning for middle and high school students. Done in partnership with Kunskapsskolan, a Swedish network comprised of 139 experimental schools in Sweden, the UK, India.--Co-sponsored and designed with the Ashokan Center the YESS-Youth Empowerment Sustainability Summit in 2020 for more than 120 middle and high school students that brought together teams of local, urban and international schools for a three-day immersion in climate change literacy and leadership--Created a partnership with Maverick Family Counseling to provide on-campus mental health support services to students and teachers--Established commitment to becoming an inclusive and diverse community through partnerships with Bard’s Brother’s at Bard and the Center for Creative Education for a Saturday program for middle and highs school students from underserved communities in Kingston, NY

Lead educational consultant for the Royal Crown Prince’s new 21st-century K-12 school that features experiential and project-based learning designed to create a new of innovators, social entrepreneurs, and leaders. Scope of work includes writing and implementing strategic plan; designing and delivering a professional development summer institute for 55 faculty; hiring a team to build out grades 4-12 curriculum; creating international K-12 and higher education partnerships with institutions that include Bank Street College, MIT Media Lab, Project Zero (Harvard Graduate School of Education), and the Smithsonian Institution.

A Swedish-operated middle school organized around coaching, personalized learning, and a digital portal. Parent company closed school in 2015 due to financial reasons. Under my leadership, supervising a staff of 24 teachers with 3 direct reports, I mentored and supervised operational and academic leaders; implemented structures, procedures and systems into all facets of school life; designed and initiated a differentiated teacher development plan, brought Regents Science and Math within a year; brokered partnerships with local cultural organizations; obtained a three-year grant with Educational Alliance for an afterschool program; and launched a Saturday arts and academics program.

Stevens is an age 2-grade 8 independent school of nearly 400 students on two campuses in Hoboken and Jersey City. A front-runner in progressive education in Hudson County for more than 60 years, Stevens last director was at the helm for 16 years. The role of the interim is to begin to move the school toward a more distributed and robust organizational structure while introducing opportunities to its staff for growth and leadership. This includes bolstering a budding professional learning culture, implementing a major technology infusion initiative and diversifying development efforts. As Interim, I also supervise a faculty of over 50 teachers and 20 support staff as well as manage a $7,000,000 budget.

During my tenure as Head, BFIS enjoyed a trajectory of incremental academic, financial and enrollment growth. We established the IB Diploma program, increased enrollment 35%, and created a surplus of over 2,000,000 Euros. There now exits a vibrant community defined by an ethos of diversity, intellectual growth and creativity. A strong professional learning community characterizes the faculty through an emphasis on collaboration, teaming and differentiated instruction. Curriculum mapping, embedded professional development and innovation grants strengthened teaching and improved faculty retention. Digital fluency and exciting forms of communication were also established as a result of New Century Learning, a 3-year initiative financed through annual fund donations totaling 150,000 Euros. Advancing BFIS’ global mission, a robust community service program took root in which students experience the dimensions of citizenship by participating in Habitat for Humanity, Model U.N. and projects with local school, cultural and social service agencies. Finally, expanding our external outreach, BFIS brokered an international school heads network, which met monthly to partner and share common issues and opportunities.

Facilitated a social/emotional learning project at two NY high schools. Worked with school SEL committee, principal and various faculty members in delivering training and direction over the course of an academic year.

As instructional leader in a school of 2400 students, I oversaw all aspects of professional development and curriculum. With a faculty of 240 teachers, I initiated curriculum reviews, technology and arts initiatives, leadership structures for teachers, and helped usher in the IB program for the entire school (PYP, MYP and Degree Program). I also designed and implemented a corporately funded partnership with the Ministry of Education to run Saturday and Summer Academies for Mexico City public school children and their teachers.

The Liberty Partnership at Bank Street College (LPP) began 34 years ago with 300 students and I was its founding Director. It continues today (as Liberty Leads), as a beacon of sustainability and effectiveness in youth development programs integrating Bank Street's long standing commitment to social justice and its developmental interaction methods. It began in 1989 as a New York State Education initiated program, one of 52 consortiums and continues to impact on the lives of underserved youth. It produced a wide range of direct service components that included after school programming, mentoring, counseling, a weekend enrichment program with a wide array arts and academic experiences, and a residential summer program conducted at Bard College for seven years,
