About David Pender

I'm a senior executive with deep manufacturing experience in producing sustainable building materials, having operated factories in Germany, USA and Australia. I'm known for my ability to take on challenging roles and assignments, rapidly shifting complex under-optimised plants to high performing best-practice operations, as well as leading complex plant start-ups, quickly achieving a smooth operational cadence. My strengths include design, start-up and running of complex manufacturing processes as well as continuous improvement of operations in more mature manufacturing settings, with full P&L responsibility. I have achieved 3 successful complex plant start-ups / turnarounds in both Germany and the US and have also run and improved more mature operations in Australia by working closely with the teams to define what success looks like and driving improvement. I use data astutely to drive complex decision-making and I am adept at breaking down very complex situations into easily digestible projects and tasks for the wider team to solve together. I am a world class manufacturing (WCM) expert, with strong roots in six-sigma methodology from my time at GE very early in my career, always looking for the most practical solution on the path to financial success.
