I started out as a Rodman. After 2 years, I moved up to Instrument Man. I learned a lot in this position and after 4 years in this role, I was promoted to Party Chief. This firm did all aspects of surveying. Boundary,topographic, and ALTA surveys were daily operations. We also did a lot of Construction staking, which is my forte. I love construction staking. We staked a lot of houses and pinned the foundations when necessary. Flood certificates. I focused on staying up to date on our Robotics and GPS equipment as much as I could. I really enjoyed working here. It’s where I learned most of what I know. Tim Kennedy is a top notch Surveyor. His level of accuracy is unmatched by anyone else I’ve worked for. He has high standards and expects the same from his Party Chiefs. There are no button pushers here. No glorified data collectors here. You better be able to make decisions in the field, as well as be able to translate and rotate your job. I left in 2014 to obtain my BS in Geographic Information Science and Technology. I briefly returned there for about 10 months but decided to move on due to limited growth potential there.
