URBAN DISPERSION NUMERICAL EXPERIMENTS•Performed high fidelity computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations of pollutant dispersion in urban environments via RANS, LES, and DNS calculations•Constructed a computational geometry and mesh for downtown Oklahoma City and validated CFD results with Joint Urban 2003 full scale experimental data•Utilized DNS databases for idealized geometries (wavy channel, wall mounted cube, random height building array) to evaluate the ability of RANS and LES to capture turbulence and scalar flux anisotropyTURBULENCE MODEL DEVELOPMENT•Developed a method to pass turbulence anisotropy data from the v2-f RANS model to algebraic models for the scalar flux, improving prediction of dispersion from a point source•Implemented a dynamic turbulent Schmidt number subgrid scalar flux model for use with LES computations on unstructured gridsHIGH PERFORMANCE COMPUTING•Developed, debugged, and ran MPI codes on multicore computing clusters

•Project lead for the Future Year Homeland Security Program (FYHSP) System•FYHSP: a Java based web application used by ~300 people under the Department of Homeland Security to manage budget and performance data•Responsibilities included start to finish design, development and implementation of system upgrades based on evolving client needs.

•20 week culminating engineering research and design project•Tasked with optimizing, measuring, and tuning the 2005 DFR car•Developed a theoretical under-steer gradient model based on tire Pacejka coefficients and suspension parameters•Designed vehicle rocker arm package using Pro-Engineer and built the package using plasma cutting and manual machining

•The Magnetic Reconnection Scaling Experiment (RSX) investigated the basic mechanism of magnetic reconnection in merging plasma current channels•Designed and constructed probes for magnetic field detection in RSX•Worked with vacuum systems, components, and equipment as well as pulsed power triggering electronics•Analyzed the image resolving capability of a dual frame CCD Digital Camera
