Former Police Officer aged 57yrs completed 25yrs 5mths service. Retired from Sussex Police on 13th June 2023 & looking for further employment opportunities, ideally part time but would consider full time.David has good communication skills and able to communicate across all age groups with ease.David has worked mainly in Community Policing working closely with partner agencies setting up projects & initiatives in the community. David has worked on Problem Solving projects to tackle & reduce anti social behaviour or criminal activity.Recent roles have been as a Youth Officer where he completes early interventions with young people to divert them from becoming involved in criminal activity. He also completes interventions with young people that are within the criminal system looking at changing outlooks & interests to stop further offending.Within his role he regular deals with safeguarding issues & resolutions/sign posting for all age groups in particular young people.David regularly teaches lessons within education environments to large or small groups on various topics regarding law & criminal activity to fit in with the educational curriculum.David has recently renewed passing his emergency driver training & holds a D1 licence.Outside of his day job he runs a successful local Scout Group where he has been a volunteer leader for 40 years. His role which he has held for 25yrs is Group Scout Leader & oversees the general running of the group & its compliance with Scout Association policies, responsible leading a committee to run the administration & financial viability of the group. He also heads up a team of leaders for delivering a balanced programme to young people as well as overseeing any safeguarding issues ad well managing training / development needs for the leaders.David is also a qualified referee & has been since 1981 where he achieved promotion and completed 11 seasons at the top level officiating on the Professional Game in the English Football League. Since his retirement active refereeing he has spent 8 years observing & assessing Match Officials within the Football League at matches giving immediate hot debriefs & compiling detailed reports of their performance at the match.David also has been involved for 15yrs with The FA running a Centre Of Referee Excellence for the Southern Region covering 4 counties. He has responsibility for 8 coaches & 44 selected referees to develop each week & run quarterly training meetings, both practical & theory in order to develop future young referees into the professional game.
