    Worked as a postdoctoral fellow under the supervision of Dr. C. David Sherrill. My primary research focus was the implementation of reduced-scaling algorithms into the Psi4 electronic structure theory code. To this end, my most significant focus was on the implementation of reduced-scaling algorithms for the construction of commonly-utilized matrices in quantum chemistry (the Coulomb and exchange matrices). I helped implement multiple such algorithms into Psi4 (e.g., LinK) and analyze the performance of said algorithms compared to traditional algorithms. I also implemented a framework into Psi4 to support the execution of said Coulomb and exchange algorithms, leading to an interface with a second code to provide non-commercial GPU support for exchange matrix construction in Psi4. I also helped implement the Domain-Based Local Pair Natural Orbital (DLPNO) Coupled Cluster (CC) method into Psi4, a method designed to achieve the extremely high accuracy of the CC formalism with a reduced algorithmic scaling.

    Worked as a Graduate Research Assistant under the supervision of Dr. Mark S. Gordon. My graduate research focused primarily on two projects. The first project was the development of a new algorithm and code implementation of the Restricted Hartree-Fock (RHF) method for the GAMESS electronic structure theory code, able to take advantage of multilevel parallelism using the Message Passing Interface (MPI) and Graphics Processing Units (GPUs). The second project was the development of JuliaChem, an entirely new electronic structure theory developed using the Julia programming Language. JuliaChem was designed to test the efficiacy of Julia for electronic structure theory applications, specifically in terms of achieving comparable performance to codes written in more traditional scientific computing languages.
