I am currently a Rotational Captain for a busy charter program responsible for safe operation and charter execution. Over the past five years, I have managed a number of large shipyard periods including a 7m extension, Atlantic crossings and charters in the South of France, Croatia, Montenegro, Turkey, Greece, Ionian Islands, Italy, Corsica, Sardinia, Spain, Balearics, Bahamas, and the Caribbean.

This was my first Captains role and I was retained by the owner with the goal of growing the charter program and maintain crew retention, for which I achieved 100% retention in 2015. I was responsible for the charter from start to finish including planning itinerates, APA accounts, executing passage plans, and making sure all guests’ needs were met. Safety is always my top priority, which is why I ensured the highest levels of attention to planned maintenance, ISM, and standard operational procedures.

I worked on privately owned super yachts ranging from 44m to 90m. I also founded www.southafricanyachties.co.zaM/Y Domani – Benetti 44m | MediterraneanI was the Chief Officer on the Domani on a temporary contract. I was retained to help sell the vessel but extended my contract to manage drive time docking and undocking, watch keeping, and navigation underway. The transaction and the charters while I was onboard were both successful.M/Y Nero - 90M | MediterraneanThis was a seasonal contract I engaged in due to personal reasons. The charter operated under busy conditions, requiring 8 hours of bridge watch daily, and 126 days at sea. I was responsible for crew management, safety, security, and full ISM. I executed back-to-back charters while assisting the Captain with logistics and extensive navigation.Apoise/Titania – Lurssen 68/73m | Mediterranean | North SeaAs Chief Officer, I managed a crew of 24 at sea for 98 days. I was responsible for basic maneuvering and watch-keeping, as well as pre-arrival and departure checks. During this time, a major refit to extend the vessel’s length was completed in Lurssen’s Germany shipyard. Jems – Heesen 44m | MediterraneanI worked on the Jems as a Mate and then Chief Officer from March 2009 to November 2010, with a 3-month relief period in 2013. I completed full setup of a new build regarding deck supplies and configuration and was responsible for quality assurance for final build signoff. I implemented Cayman Islands SMS in conjunction with YCO management. This charter included two very busy summer seasons with a total of 219 days at sea.
