Total staffing in the two primary control centers increased to 52 individuals including new management, supervisory and operations personnel positions, resulting in successful achievement of operational directives. • Assumed responsibility for the NERC compliance team to support platform-wide NERC compliance for generation and transmission entities, resulting in successful completion of several GOP, TOP and CIP audits with zero violations.• Developed and implemented a comprehensive program to improve long-term staff retention, ultimately resulting in a 56% reduction in the 2017 annual attrition rate for control center staff. -

Total newly acquired generation assets during the period included 32 power stations containing 124 generating units with 1,103 MW of capacity and a transmission system.• Hired and trained individuals to support a 25% increase in control center staffing including the addition of new supervisory positions to support operation of the expanded generation asset base. • Decommissioned a control center and several control rooms utilized by the prior owners of the acquired assets to realize improved operating efficiencies and reduced operating costs.• Assumed accountability for the IT Services team including two managers and eight technicians / administrators responsible for performing SCADA IT and Admin IT functions. Successfully supported significant expansion of the system control and business communications and data networks resulting from the rapid increase in the magnitude and geographical distribution of the generation footprint across the United States.

General Manager, National System Control CenterBrookfield Renewable 2008 - 2013Marlborugh, MaAssisted in leading a team responsible for the design, construction and commissioning of a state-of-the-art, centralized control center located in Marlborough, MA. Coordinated the transfer of existing personnel or hiring of new personnel to staff the new control center. • Integrated approximately 100 conventional hydro stations and a pump storage station into the Marlborough control center and decommissioned two legacy regional control centers, significantly improving operating efficiencies and reducing asset operating costs.• Developed the internal processes required to support control center functions including comprehensive training programs and detailed hydro station operating procedures, resulting in achievement of the number one priority: safe and efficient remote operation of the assets.• Integrated four newly constructed or acquired wind plants comprised of 156 turbines with 373 MW capacity to support Brookfield’s entry into wind generation technology. Developed a wind generation training program for system control staff to ensure safe, efficient and compliant operation of the new wind generation assets.

Managed a team of six operators to remotely operate a hydro system comprised of six hydro stations containing 31 units with a total capacity of 131 MW. • Coordinated hydro and steam generation to efficiently supply 40 Hz and 60 Hz power to two large, integrated pulp and paper mills.• Directed water management for a 56 billion cubic foot storage system comprised of 18 dams to achieve demanding safety, environmental, regulatory and production mandates.
