I've always had a keen interest in history. I studied ancient history during my school years before pursuing arts and law at Sydney University. Throughout my time at university, I continued to nurture my passion for history, although I ultimately completed my law degree and embarked on a career as a business, commercial, and family lawyer. Despite this, my curiosity about modern historical narratives persisted, leading me to pursue a Masters’ degree at the same university in 2012.My thesis, completed in 2011, explored the colonial imagination surrounding sealers and the frustration of authority, titled: "Pirates, Slave Traders, Savages, or simply misunderstood? Colonial Imagination of the Sealers and the Frustration of Authority."Since then, I've dedicated myself to extensive research, particularly focusing on Australian colonial maritime history. As a result, I've recently completed two books on the subject.I've had the opportunity to review three books on maritime subjects, and my reviews have been published in The Great Circle, a journal of the Australian Association for Maritime History.Aside from my interest in Australian colonial history, I'm also passionate about photography, gardening, and playing field hockey at a fairly competitive level.
