David Raffo brings energy, passion and a love for learning to IDE Corp. as an Instructional Strategies Specialist. David has a wide range of experiences in both traditional public and charter schools in urban settings. As a member of The New Teacher Project (TNTP) out of Newark, NJ, he is professionally trained in urban education. David started his lead teaching career at Newark’s Central High School in 2010 and was a founding member of the first stand-alone charter high school located in Newark’s central ward from 2011-2013. After a number of years crafting his skills as a lead Social Studies teacher, David began his Master's degree journey in Educational Leadership at Loyola University, Maryland. Through Loyola’s graduate program, David designed curriculum, conducted qualitative and quantitative research and established an identity as a future school leader. In conjunction with Loyola’s leadership program, David entered into the SEED Public Charter School, located in Southeast D.C. There he joined the dean’s office, in which he readily utilized and assisted in restorative practices, mediation and support group circles to reach behaviorally struggling students. During the 2014-2015 school year, David arrived at Passaic Arts and Science Charter School. His strengths in the classroom include technology integration, classroom management, and data-driven instruction. David is dedicated to a life of urban education and serving underprivileged students in high poverty areas.Currently, David has transitioned into the career path as an educational consultant for IDE Corp. He is excited and passionate about leading professional development opportunities and coaching teachers which will lead to higher levels of student engagement, empowerment, and efficacy.
