I worked in the upstream Oil and gas field as a Contracts Advisor (Attorney) - Contract Management Commercial Phase. The project had high turnover just before the project went into execution. I was requested to step in and support the Project Management team in all facets which required support from subcontractor management to negotiations with the client regarding change order requests and other key issues.Patent Management – Interfacing with external counsel to ensure the efficient management of Saipem America, Inc.’s intellectual property rights. This included internal evaluation with engineering and financial groups to determine whether maintenance of foreign Patents is necessary. In addition to this, I coordinated with external counsel to see if patent infringement prosecution is necessary.Litigation/ Pre-litigation- Supporting multiple business units in addressing issues which are on the cusp of legal action and active cases.Procurement – Supporting procurement department personnel to ensure that each subcontract is back to back with the relevant agreements for each project as needed. A number of cases followed me from my previous firm requiring me to go into practice on my own. I ran my own practice focusing on the areas of Family Law, Criminal Defense and Civil Litigation.

I managed a docket of 60+ active cases in the areas of Criminal Defense, Family Law and Civil Litigation at the County Court and District Court levels. I had complete autonomy in this role and was able to successfully manage my caseload without issue.

After passing the bar exam, a classmate and I went into business with one another. We were supervised by a 20 year attorney and received a crash course in what it is to be an effective advocate.
