Field Sales team within I-CAR. Working with local committees, schools, and Instructors to provide collision repair education critically needed for today's new vehicle designs. Focus on building and promoting I-CAR benchmark education within the Northwest region. Regular activities include: Meeting with CTE school advisory boards, administrators, and instructors to support their collision repair programs, supporting local I-CAR committees that engage with collision shops and schools, and attend collision industry trade shows and other events to promote I-CAR education.

Greetings to all I-CAR Instructors and Volunteers. You are undoubtedly aware of movement within I-CAR over the last few months. Staffing alignment and changes have placed some new folks in different positions recently. My name is David Robinette. I have come to I-CAR to take on the role of National Field Support Manager as of October 1, 2014. This position was formerly held by Mike Miller who left some big shoes to fill at I-CAR.By way of introduction, I wish to share my background prior to coming to I-CAR full time. I have been an I-CAR instructor in the Northwest region for more than 26 years. I started out in the collision industry as a line tech doing combination work. I then worked into a successful business partnership in a Utah collision repair facility. After 18 years, I moved to the insurance claims side of the industry where I managed automotive physical damage claim professionals for 13 years. The common thread through my careers has been my involvement as an instructor with I-CAR, teaching a variety of I-CAR courses spanning the roles for both collision and insurance professionals.I am grateful for the opportunity to work full time for this great company. I am passionate about the I-CAR vision: That every person in the collision repair industry has the information, knowledge and skills required to perform complete, safe and quality repairs for the ultimate benefit of the consumer.

The new business was started by Clay Hansen around 1982. I began as a collision technician in 1983. As the business grew, Clay expanded to a larger location in Ogden, and joined Carstar. I became part owner in the business, and continued to work as a collision tech. In 1991 I became manager of the Ogden based business, and worked closely with Clay until 2001. Clay expanded his business to a new location in Layton, Utah. Now called "Layton Carstar", Clay's business now thrives with excellent employees, and a very good reputation for quality work and customer satisfaction..
