Senior Purchasing Manager
Current- Responsible for scrap copper requirements with an annual volume of 44 million lbs or $150-$200 million in spend annually.- Works closely with approx. 70 scrap suppliers for purchase and delivery of scrap copper.- Responsible for additional Raw Materials and chemicals as needed for the KPC operations group valued at approximately $100 million annually.- Tracks purchases and develops monthly reporting statistics for scrap copper and other raw materials.- Works closely with the engineering group and the plants to complete capitals projects safely, on time, and within budget.- Solicits budgetary quotes for environmental projects as needed.- Prepares and executes competitive bid packages. Analyze results and summarize for evaluation.- Issues Purchase Orders and other inquiries within our ERP system.- Incorporates negotiation strategies to achieve the most competitive position for Koppers.- Works with the plants to establish qualified and competitive contractors.- Works on strategic initiatives including Sustainability, Diversity and streamlining the Purchasing system.- Supports supplier performance and development initiatives to ensure quality, on-time delivery and cost adherence.- Ensures compliance with Responsible Care requirements.- Purchases natural gas and electricity for our U.S. plants and works to identify cost-effective energy efficiencies.
