David is a Chemical Engineer and Certified Air Quality Professional specialising in Air Quality modelling, impact assessment and regulatory approvals. David has over 25 years experience in the air quality sector during which time he has worked in a wide array of industries including large scale transportation projects, coal mining, iron ore mining, electricity generation, pharmaceutical manufacturing, chemical manufacturing, metalliferous mining (including radio-nuclide modelling), construction, water infrastructure, contaminated land remediation and primary industry assessment.David is primarily based in the impact assessment area of AECOM, although he still maintains a capability in the ambient monitoring and stack emissions testing areas of the business where he designs the monitoring programs and assists in the high level interpretation of the stack testing results.David manages the AECOM Australia air quality modelling team which services projects from all over Australia. David has extensive experience working with a wide range of models including CALPUFF, AERMOD, GRAL, TAPM, CALINE and various smaller project specific models such as SLAB and TANKS. These models have been applied across a wide array of clients and industry resulting in a very strong understanding of the relative advantages of the various models for different applications.In addition to his role in Australia modelling team, David regularly works with AECOM's international team of experts from the US, UK and Asia. This work is aimed at ensuring AECOM's knowledge is as broadly based as possible and that our staff are aware of regulatory trends throughout Australia and the world. David Rollings is a Chemical Engineer with over 16 years experience in a range of environmental consulting fields including air quality impact assessments, contaminated land assessment and remediation projects and a wide variety of air, water and soil sampling projects for a variety of industrial, commercial and government clients.David manages the AECOM Australia air quality modelling team which services projects from all over Australia. David has extensive experience working with a wide range of models including CALPUFF, AERMOD, TAPM, CALINE and various smaller project specific models such as SLAB and TANKS. These models have been applied across a wide array of clients and industry resulting in a very strong understanding of the relative advantages of the various models for different applications.As part of his current role, David is responsible for much or the regulatory negotiations on behalf of clients and regularly meets with the NSW OEH air branch to discuss issues associated with ensuring a good environmental outcome whilst still ensuring reasonable expectations on industry.In addition to the dispersion modelling aspects of the impact assessments, David also designs and assists in the management of small to large air quality monitoring programs including ambient monitoring and point source collection e.g. stack testing. David manages the collection of data from a variety of sources necessary for completing assessments to regulatory authority standards.In addition to his role in Australia modelling team, David regularly works with AECOM's international team of experts from the US, UK and Asia.
