Vice President Of Information Technology, Security & Data Officer
Chicago, Illinois
In this role, I supported the company as the first official IT hire, selling data to the marketplace and external research in the educational and pharmaceutical sectors, building tech solutions and providing consulting services to Blue Cross Blue Shield Plans in a spin off from a small 10-person company. I manage the budget and two Directors and a team of 31. I also lead IT security and compliance, infrastructure and operations, business intelligence technologies as well as application integration and data management. I chair the board level Cyber-Security subcommittee and lead the internal Privacy and Security Executive Committee. In more specifics, I oversaw the $4M SOW relationship with BCBSA, delivering data warehouse and data analytics platforms. I authored a three-year cyber-security maturity and technology roadmap, presenting to the Board of Directors. I established and built the IT program, including laying the groundwork for an ecosystem and independence from BCBSA. I set up the network, servers, storage, security, and data center. In addition, I sourced and seated top talented new hires to support the current and growing business, networking for talent. I also originated the security program from scratch, ensuring all compliance from HQ and aligning with best practices. In another effort, I expanded the footprint from Chicago to Florida during an acquisition, consolidating a data center through designing and implementing a migration strategy. I expertly built out a data management, data governance, and data technology program (future target data solution). I also executed an enterprise-wide business resilience plan with a third party, supporting remote workers and launching a crisis management program and business continuity plan, ensuring proactive and effective resilience in case of security events. In this, I created a Business Resilience Governance Committee to communicate and adopt changes to policies and objectives.
