Fulfill a key role representing clients seeking legal guidance with respect to property rights in the development of energy development projects, with a focus on facilitating land use lease acquisition and divestitures. Engaged in extensive due diligence to validate clear title, complex contract negotiations, and other material items prior to closure of lease agreements and assignments. Worked with a network of contractors to ensure the timely and accurate completion of data management and due diligence functions for the assignment of major energy development projects.Key team member verifying and securing real estate acquisitions for energy development prospect valued in excess of $100,000,000, meeting and exceeding client expectations for deadlines and costs of acquisition. Leveraged superior organizational expertise and subject matter knowledge to prepare all necessary reports, summaries, and supporting documentation required to secure each client’s lease agreements.Used database mapping tools to identify Held-By-Production units and to properly identify mineral and surface ownership rights held by private, state and federal entities.Negotiated and drafted complex lease and land use agreements on behalf of owners as well as major corporate clients, determining needs of clients and ensuring that interests were adequately protected.Represented the interests of fractional mineral owners seeking to pool interests, preventing depletion and securing royalty payments, as well as nonprofit organizations seeking the acquisition of mineral interests and water rights to protect environmentally sensitive land.Representing clients in diverse litigation matters ranging from criminal defense, to administrative and regulatory proceedings/compliance, to complex real estate litigation and transactions.

Established this company dedicated to identifying distressed mineral rights and under-valued mineral assets. Provide services related to the curing of title defects in mineral/water rights and other real estate transactions.Successfully managed the acquisition of approximately 830 net mineral acres of mineral rights to date, effectively maintaining acquisition costs to as low as $5.01 per mineral acre. Identified and implemented creative strategies for acquiring, financing and development of marginal real estate parcels for the purpose of renewable and conventional energy development. Currently pursuing development of community solar power installations.

Represented the interests of clients in fulfillment of the State’s constitutional obligation to provide counsel to individuals charged with crimes in Colorado state courts.Established a factual framework for each case based on interviews with clients, witnesses, and other interested parties, building an appropriate legal defense based on the facts and the law.Managed a caseload of up to 30 clients, appearing at pre-trial conferences, pre-trial motion hearings, jury trials, and sentencing proceedings.

Managed all development and administration functions at this civic and social association, including all work necessary to secure nonprofit tax exempt status, as well as the creation of a business plan to solicit funding. Created a promotional marketing plan designed to capture the attention of prospective funding sources and elevate awareness of the organization’s mission.
