I have served in Leadership with the National League of Cities for over a decade, on the Board, as a Policy & Advocacy Committee Chair, on the Leadership Training Council, as an organizational Ambassador, as a Council Chair, etc. I have also been a speaker at numerous national meetings, and a meeting host/organizer. Having served as 2nd VP, and 1st VP - 2024 is my year as President of the NLC as we celebrate 100 years of this amazing organization.

My science credentials have led to leadership roles in national scientific and non-profit organizations, and to consulting with a variety of biotech and scientific companies on issues of science policy and scientific communications. I've also served as an elected official, and lead the City of Rancho Cordova and other local and national non-profits to great recognition. My greatest strengths lie in the scientific analysis, strategy and communications. And perhaps surprisingly, those skills are vital city leadership - with or without a coronavirus crisis.
