During this time, I have worked with him in several capacities. When I worked in Human Resources at Francis Marion University, Mr. Sanderson was then a student intern. I observed his consistent, strong work ethic and his adaptive talents in an office environment that was required multitasking and patience--all while remaining professional. He demonstrated these talents on a daily basis (talents, I might add, that I myself after many years of work experience sometimes struggled to develop). Subsequent to his graduation, I worked with Mr. Sanderson on a one-on-one basis regarding career development matters (e.g., resume drafting, cover letters, interviewing, job searching). Working with him was an enlightening experience because he was not only receptive to my suggestions but was also a motivated, independent thinker (one of the best independent thinkers I have observed in my seventeen years of work in higher education). Most recently, Mr. Sanderson and I have collaborated--in the capacity of professional colleagues--to guide students in career planning workshops at Francis Marion University. Mr. Sanderson's presentations to and interactions with the students are informative, detailed, and engaging. Indeed, his delivery style, combined with command of career development issues, puts him on a professorial level. Not surprisingly, I now seek his consultation and advice on issues related to education and professional development.
