Mr. Schafer has over 40 years of experience and is a recognized expert in the groundwater industry. He has designed hundreds of high-capacity water supply wells, has analyzed hundreds of pumping tests, and is consulted regularly on well development and rehabilitation procedures. He has done extensive groundwater modeling using numerical models, analytic element models and proprietary analytical models that he has developed. He has demonstrated expertise in site characterization and remediation system design at CERCLA and RCRA sites across the country. He has published numerous articles on dewatering, well hydraulics, well development, and well rehabilitation, and reviewed and contributed a portion of the aquifer testing chapter of Groundwater and Wells, 3nd Edition. Since the 1970s, he has lectured frequently on groundwater-related topics to universities, government agencies, and professional organizations.
