Deep Basin

Worked with all Production Operations Teams in Deep Basin to ensure competency of our workers at all levels, utilizing a coaching team approach. Coached the coaches as well as individual workers. Worked with regional Competency Assurance Leads, Operational Excellence team members, Health, Safety and Environment team members, HR, and other operations subject matter experts to develop the Western Canada Business Unit coaching program and training materials.Chaired the Coaching Ownership Group for the last year. Represented Deep Basin on the Procedures Working Group.

Grande Prairie

Worked with Operations, Engineering, and M&R to maximize production and reliability of the Wembley, Valhalla, Saddle Hills, Bonanza, Goodfare, and Elmworth fields. Trouble shot well problems, optimized both standalone and SCADA controlled plunger systems, shot fluid levels, supervised wire-line, installed portable compressors, did acid clean-outs, did water and inhibitor flushes, tracked plungers with Echometer, changed SCADA e-proms, did up AFE requests and tracked costs, worked in the Deep Basin IOC room during initial development, built operating procedures for all tasks, managed work alone program, managed Deep Basin ERP binder and company procedure distribution.

Coordinated numerous projects, primarily covering the former Gulf oil facilities in the Red Earth area, as well as some in the Wembley and Valhalla areas

Wembley Sour Deep-Cut Gas Plant

Operated all areas of the Wembley Sour Gas plant as an outside operator, progressing to board operator trainee. Plant consisted of 3 inlets, stabilization, refrigeration, dehydration, 3 sweetening trains, deep cut, cryogenics, sour water and condensate tankage, VRU, 5 bullets. Worked on initial start-up of the high pressure dense phase pure acid gas injection to well on plant site. Worked supervising sections of the plant for 2 debottlenecking turnarounds at plant while operating, as well as the 2007 turnaround.

Valhalla I Unit Oil Battery And Field

Operated facilities included group and test separators, FWKO, a treater, water filtering, tank farm, VRU, trucked in metering, pigging facilities, water flood, pumping wells, water injection wells, single well batteries, water source wells with ESP. Also relief operated the Saddle Hills oil battery and field.

Goodfare 4-19 Sweet Gas Plant And Field

I started at Goodfare when the plant consisted of 1 inlet, 1 sales compressor, 2 refridge compressors, ethylene glycol dehydration, condensate stabilization, frac oil splitter, 2 salt bath heaters and 2 glycol heat medium reboilers, and a tank farm. The field consisted of 15 high volume, high pressure gas/liquid wells each with separator/TEG Dehydration units and manual daily charts. Also had 1 pumping single well oil battery. All production accounting was on paper by manual chart reading.Over the years I operated Goodfare, the field increased to 70+ gas wells, most with separator units, and plunger lift systems. 10 field compressors of various sizes and SCADA were also added to the field. Oil wells increased to 6 pumping single well batteries. 2 inlets and inlet compression, as well as 2 dual stage sales compressors were added to the plant.• I modified the spreadsheet production accounting program we developed for Valhalla to use at Goodfare.• Handled commissioning and start-up of most of these well and facility adds. I was heavily involved in getting plunger lift systems added and optimized, including supervising installations.• I sourced and evaluated outside condensate and had process set up to run purchased condensate through the splitter to produce additional Frac Oil, which was worth 3 times what condensate was worth, adding several million to the facility’s bottom line.• Took part in numerous plant and field turnarounds.I left Goodfare to operate the Valhalla 1-29 sweet gas plant and field from Nov 1986 to July 1987, then returned to Goodfare.

Valhalla 1-29 Sweet Gas Plant And Field

Valhalla 1-29 Plant was a dew point plant with all gas engine drivers, condensate stabilization, and TEG dehydration. Gas wells were equipped with separators, well site dehydrators, line heaters, and/or wet metered. I also operated 10 single well oil batteries in the same field, some flowing, but most with pump jacks of various types.• Commissioned and started up 2 new wells with separator-dehydrator units.• Worked with production engineer to set up first computer based field production accounting program utilizing spreadsheets.

Lator Oil Field

Operated single well batteries in the Lator field, including initial start-up and operation of flowing wells and pump jacks. Shot fluid levels. Work included commission, start-up and operation of the Lator Central Battery. Dewaxing of wells included the use plungers for dewaxing.
