Performance & DiagnosticsMaintain duties of Performance & Diagnostics Engineers while:Attending project review meetings to identify problem areas and make recommendations on how we can improve project outcome.Attend Pre-outage meetings for scheduling of activities based on configuration changes and component upgrades.Provide new hires instruction on how to use the performance instruments and calculation tools available, provide guidelines for evaluating data of the different engines.Schedule appropriate manpower to ensure proper field and office support.; ALSTOM Power Midlothian, VA Performance & Diagnostics EngineerConduct performance and emission calculations for upgrade projects.Perform emission and pulsation tuning after overhauls and upgrade projects.Perform energy balance calculations of gas turbine after upgrades and overhauls to determine performance improvements.Evaluate operation data for component degradation and failure using ALSTOM’s gas turbine remote monitoring system.Write performance test procedures, coordinate scheduling and execution of performance, pulsation, and emission activities.Assisted in development and testing of ALSTOM gas turbine Digital Pulsation Module (DPM).Developed Redundant Pulsation Probe holder to increase system reliability and in conjunction with the new DPM and sensor to reduce cost.Developed new operating concept for Low Emission Project in Chugach, Alaska resulting in single digit NOx levels while maintaining low pulsation levels through a wide range of ambient temperatures (90F to - 40F).Create Field Service Instructions (FSI’s) for implementation of new hardware, software, inspection and safety procedures.Create drawings for manufacturing and installation of new or modified hardware.Maintain performance, pulsation, and emission equipment certifications while providing time and material estimates to CSM for quotes
