Secondment in R&D & Global Product Strategy Legal to support key marketed assets, as well as assets in development, focused on oncology.

• Lead attorney-client privileged internal investigations in the Americas region or other regions as needs arise as part of GSK’s Dispute Resolution & Prevention (DR&P) group. These investigations are run in partnership with members of the company’s Corporate Investigations team and, at times, involve outside counsel and/or forensic firms.• Make strategic and tactical decisions relating to each ACP investigation; work with the team to develop and execute an appropriately tailored investigation plan for each matter; drive completion of the work and issuance of a report in a timely manner, while remaining flexible throughout the course of the investigation; provide legal advice during and at the conclusion of each matter, including as to recommended remediation, culpability of parties involved, and potential company exposure to government investigations and litigation.• Engage in stakeholder management regarding difficult and sophisticated matters in culturally diverse markets, including delivering oral and written reports on developments and findings in investigations to senior leaders across business units, up to and including the company’s General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer.• Manage litigation matters, including one involving injunctive relief and another where the Eastern District of Pennsylvania granted summary judgment against a plaintiff seeking an eight-figure claim.

• Served as the Managing Attorney for GSK’s Global External Legal Relations Team (GELRT), the procurement arm of DR&P. Responsible for negotiating and drafting value-based alternative fee agreements with GSK’S outside counsel in furtherance of GELRT’s mission to significantly reduce GSK’s external legal spend while ensuring continued excellent legal representation.• Additional experience in: managing investigation and litigation matters; GELRT’s Outside Counsel Selection Initiative, a reverse-auction for engaging counsel on higher-value matters; and project management, including the launch of GELRT’s Premier Legal Partner program.• Project coordinator for summer-2020 PDLG Legal Intern.

· Commercial litigator, handled cases in both state and federal courts across the country. · Practice focused on contract disputes, trade secrets, restrictive covenants, and business torts in various industries, including pharmaceutical, medical device, hospitality, insurance, consumer products, and financial services.· Varied practice also included drafting contracts and settlement agreements, patent and other intellectual property disputes, First Amendment issues, and criminal defense. · Extensive experience in: o Discovery matters; o Examination of witnesses in depositions and arbitrations; o Preliminary injunctions; and o Motion practice and briefing.· Member of the Firm’s E-Discovery Team.· Representative experience includes: o Trying a dispute in which the plaintiff alleged failure to use “best efforts” under a patent license agreement had resulted in millions of dollars in damages, only to seek and agree upon a walk-away after the first day of trial in the Western District of Texas; o Cross-examining the plaintiff’s damages expert in an arbitration in Philadelphia based upon the dissolution of an investment management company, where the eventual award was only 7.5 percent of the claimed amount; o Taking depositions, obtaining other discovery, and drafting briefs in a breach of contract action where the client settled for less than 3 percent of the plaintiff’s claimed damages in the Eastern District of Oklahoma; and o Working as a member of a trial team which won jury verdicts rejecting over $8 million in claims for breach of contract and tortious interference and awarding $130,000 on counterclaim for misuse of confidential information after a two-week trial in Jackson County (Missouri) Circuit Court.· Served as Coordinator for Summer Associate Program in both 2014 and 2015.

· Drafted orders for the Honorable John Mott regarding post-conviction and pre-trial issues. · Reviewed and researched motions and petitions brought before the Court. · Assisted in preparation of daily calendar and case files, describing case history, summary of pending motions, and current status.

· Worked on cases involving claims of innocence for six persons convicted in the Maryland/DC/Virginia region, as coordinated by the Mid-Atlantic Innocence Project.· Contacted inmates, trial and appellate attorneys, police officers, and F.B.I. attorneys for case research regarding DNA and other evidence, access to transcripts and medical records, and location of witnesses.· Conducted review of trial transcripts and evidence.
