My role at MGL was a varied one (that being a bit of an understatement). I’ve always tried to demonstrate a willingness to take on any role that may be presented to me. I also strongly believe that ‘every day is a school day’ and I always want to learn more. My dedication to personal career development along with the pride I take in my work, has allowed me to explore a multitude of roles. My roles are primarily focused around the IT sector and include but are not limited to: • 2nd and 3rd line support of in house, client and open source systems - Wordpress, Moodle, OsTicket, Windows client and server, Mac OS, Debian Linux (primarily command line)• Web Development - PHP, MySQL, Apache, HTML CSS, Javascript• Exploring new languages and platforms - Python, node.js, Arduino• Training and Development - delivering custom written training courses on a multitude of IT and technology based subject in a manner that is easy to digest and replicate• Teaching in a classroom - delivering lessons to all ages from KS1 to A level• Ability to work with multiple platforms - fully capable of working with all modern operating systems and their variants, WIndows (client and server), Mac OS, *NIX variants (debian, ubuntu, etc). My personal flavour of choice is to work with barebones, terminal based linux systems and deploying my own efficient solutions. High speed, low drag. • In house and client solution delivery and development. Researching new products to deliver the most effective solution in a way that is efficient and cost effective to both the client and the company.• Developing my skill set to adapt to the situation and role as required. If I don’t know it, I will teach myself how. As I’ve said previously, ‘every day is a school day’.
