Our mission is to carry out paediatric cardiology on children from developing countries and countries that do not have the expertise or facilities to do so. We are different from many other aid charities by the fact that we also bring over from those countries, doctors, nurses and technicians and train them in paediatric cardiology. Our goal is to set up centres of excellence in as many countries as we can and eventually enable them to become independent of outside charity.SACH also sends teams to those countries to carry out surgery and training, we are based in the Wolfson Medical Centre, in Holon, Tel Aviv, Israel. To date, we have carried out over 5300 surgeries on children from 62 countries, half of which were on children from Gaza and the Palestinian Authority, Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan.SACH is recognised by the UN and EU as a Non Governmental Organisation. Our patients are not charged for their treatment, our surgeons volunteer their time and all other expenses are covered by supporters and fundraisers from around the world. Show less
